The Met Gala 2023 red carpet has come and gone, but the looks last forever.

Yesterday night, fashion's biggest night took over every walk of earth, from social media to broadcasts, as stars took on the legendary Met stairs wearing their finest garments. If you were busy living your best life, having dinner with friends, or simply getting some much-needed sleep, fear not because you can still join in on the fashion discourse. If you are a fashion enthusiast, May 1 has probably been marked, bolded, and penciled in your calendars since the Met Gala 2022 wrapped; and we don't blame you. The Met Ball is the event of the year for anyone tuned into the sartorial world, and we anticipate many major looks this year too. The Met Gala 2023's theme is Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty. According to the Met, the exhibition which inspired the ball's theme explores “the artistic methodology and stylistic vocabulary of Karl Lagerfeld's designs through recurring themes across more than 65 years, from the 1950s to his final collection in 2019.”

Like every year, the theme is open to interpretation. This year, there were plenty of people who nailed it and some who, even though they stayed on theme, failed to deliver. Rihanna had been giving us a taste of what she might wear on the Met Gala 2023 red carpet in the lead-up to the event, wearing not one but two looks from Karl Lagerfeld's archive — one Chanel and one Fendi. While she ended up going for a non-Lagerfeld confection the night of, she managed to pay homage to the designer just as effectively.

Though there were rumors that TV's reigning family might not be invited, Kim Kardashian graced the Met Gala 2023 red carpet and even reunited with the youngest sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, while walking up the stairs.
