Shay Mitchell is a redhead now, and it's all because of her fans. The Pretty Little Liars star posted a poll to her Instagram Stories, asking followers whether she should embrace the red or the white blonde looks provided by a filter, and after they overwhelmingly voted for red (there seems to have been other options, but I don't know what they were), she took the plunge.

“You guys voted…And thank you to the one and only @jesushair for going along with my extremely last-minute desire to dye my hair after a full days shoot 😘,” Shay wrote on Instagram, posting pictures from the process. Yes, it was a last-minute decision based on the poll… She even did it in her home's kitchen sink. When you have the impulse, you have the impulse!

She even hinted at more colors to come, writing that now that she knows her stylist can do such rich hues… eyes emoji! Watch this space! A refresher of what her hair looked like “before.”

We know Shay ran this transformation by her Instagram fam, but we gotta ask: Is the Ariel effect happening already? Ever since Disney dropped the first teaser of Halle Bailey as the little redhead mermaid, we've been wondering who would make it “princess but fashion,” and it looks like that's Shay.

ICYMI, Shay Mitchell welcomed her second child, a girl, in June. She now has two children with her partner, Matte Babel. The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Atlas Noa Babel, in 2019.
