With a title like "Maniac," we expected Stray Kids to pull off some unconventional looks in the music video for their latest single — and they did not disappoint. In a busy visual teeming with movement and vibrancy — there's just so much to look at — Stray Kids still managed to pull off some of the most memorable fashion and beauty moments of their careers.
It helps, of course, that there's not a linear narrative to this music video, giving the group room to play and experiment with their looks across multiple Frankensteined visual aesthetics. You want cropped jackets and track pants? You got it. Polo shirts and Burberry ties? Coming right up. Leather and lace? Always. Stray Kids have always operated under the philosophy of "more is more." Sure, it's all a little odd, but that's the point.
"Maniac" is the single off the act's newest EP, ODDINARY, which is already well on its way to becoming a million-seller. According to Bang Chan, the group's leader and crop top aficionado, with this release they wanted to convey that "everyone in the world has their own odd inside of them, and that's totally normal." After all, the members of the JYP Entertainment boy group have never been ones to play it safe — and that attitude fully extends to "Maniac" and its visual aesthetics.
To celebrate the release of ODDINARY, check out our 18 favorite fashion and beauty looks from the "Maniac" music video (while we continue to listen to the lyric "Maniac, Frankenstein처럼 걸어" on repeat) below:
1. Heart-eyes for Hyunjin
The first Stray Kid we make prolonged eye contact with in the music video is Hyunjin, who looks like the coolest Digimon tamer you'll ever meet with his flaming red hair and eye for accessories. There's something about a pink and red combo that truly pops (it certainly doesn't scream "subtlety"), and these bubblegum pink heart-shaped goggles are a real statement piece.
