I’ll be the first to admit that I’m guilty of texting while ____________ (insert pretty much any activity here). I’ve been known to run into innocent bystanders on the street or unwittingly step into oncoming traffic while BBM-ing (Blackberry Messengering).

Well, The New York Times is reporting what many of us text addicts already know: Texting can be hazardous to your health:

Though there are no official casualty statistics, there is much anecdotal evidence that the number of fatal accidents stemming from texting while driving, crossing the street or engaging in other activities is on the rise.
