Just last week Timothée Chalamet gave the people everything they wanted (and more) when he basically confirmed that Tom Holland was Zendaya’s bonafide celebrity crush. The giggly moment, for which we have Buzzfeed to thank, reached every corner of the internet. And, well, it turns out Tom had also publicly confessed Zendaya was his own celebrity crush way before — and he didn’t need his BFF to speak for him.
After Timothée and Zendaya’s charming interaction, fans have taken to social media to swoon non-stop, and some eagle-eyed ones have even resurfaced proof that Z’s crush has long been reciprocated. “I will literally never get over the way Timothée Chalamet name drops Tom Holland as Zendaya's celebrity crush and she just giggles,” Buzzfeed’s Lauren Garafano said on Twitter, posting a clip of the recent moment. “Bringing this back,” a fan responded, sharing a clip that shows Tom namechecking Zendaya as his celeb crush.
The clip in question is from a Spider-Man: Homecoming press junket from 2017 when Tom sat down with PopBuzz to discuss the film. “Who was your first celebrity crush?” the interviewer asks. After taking a small pause to gulp down some water Tom replies without hesitation: “Zendaya.” But he later backtracks. “No, it wasn’t Zendaya, it was probably Jennifer Anniston.” Hey, just because she wasn’t the first doesn’t mean she’s not the biggest, right?
