Backstage Q + A With Celebrity Stylist Melis Kuris at the Style 'N Smile Fashion Show
Ever wonder how celebs like Anna Paquin and Taylor Lautner manage to look so great for all their red-carpet appearances? Other than relying on great genes, of course, these two celebs (among others) wear outfits that are carefully chosen by celebrity stylist Melis Kuris, who happened to be the model stylist for the Style N Smile fashion show that I attended a few weeks ago. The show, which featured real teens and tweens and their sparkling smiles, was organized by the American Association of Orthodontists to prove that a healthy smile is really the greatest accessory you can have for fall. After the show, I went backstage with Melis (who, might I add, styles most of the Twilight cast for their red-carpet appearances) to ask her about her job, her style tips for fall, and what's it's like to work with such big-name celebrities:How did you get started styling?
I was an intern and an assistant in the fashion industry for four years. I worked for everybody in L.A., including every A-list celebrity stylist. I would send out cold calls to stylists I could relate to--anything to get my foot in the door. How did you land the gig of styling for the Twilight cast?

A (Spell-Checked) Selection Of This Week's Top Tweets

My Makeover at Prive Salon!
There really isn't a shortage of anything in New York City (except maybe real estate), and working in beauty for my second summer, I've learned that there are more salons and spas in this city than I will probably ever be able to visit in my lifetime. With that being said, great salons and spas are no doubt some of my favorite places to retreat to after a long day, so whenever I get a chance to visit a new one, I jump at the opportunity. A few weeks ago, I received an invitation to visit Prive Salon in SoHo, where makeup artist Fumi gave me an awesome makeover for a night out with my friends. While giving me a simple but sophisticated look with heavy top eyeliner, a few fake lashes, and pink lips, Fumi gave me some makeup tips and tricks to pass on to all our lovely Teen Vogue readers:
